so there, han = blogs at weird hours of the day.
exactly seven days from now, when we open our eyes to the world again, what will the feeling be like? (visualize!) i'm thinking of all the trainings that have led up to this point. how it all started for the juniors, from twice a week, to thrice, then four times a week and even five. and this is where we are now. through and through, the seniors have filled us with much awe. i know everyone's counting down now. GO HWACHONG CANOEISTS.
trainings have been ending before the sky turned dark lately. THE six of us took the chance to chill out at the nice macritchie pavilion. love such spontaneous little get-together with my fellow teammates, you never know what can happen with them. okay. actually you can. haha rimmel will blurt out something not very intelligent (qte typical), yt will shoot back something witty and darn hilarious, soph will let out an exclaimation, while partner and i will nod in agreement with yt and lihui will be laughing the whole time. eventually, we'll all end up in stitches. that aside, we'd also talk abt our common goals, the looming competition and what lies ahead.. it still amazes me how deeply passionate we are abt our team and this sport we do, despite the odds that have come our way as well as the diversity of our backgrounds. oh then there's the exchange of words with a touch of lian-ism. :D
the day before had special chicken rice with favourite seatmate mel, cute lin na and psychotic xin. geri's mummy was very nice to us. and my darlingest friends always know how to convince me that everything will be all right. (: mrs kingshaw is our good flen wad. thank you and thank you. (even if my world still insists on crashing down on me in the end, i promise to give my last word to all ten of you + geri hor. which doesnt make alot of sense cos there can only be one last word but nevermind, there can be second-last, third-last all the way to eleventh-last :D)
it all started when an absurd thought planted itself in my head one quiet night. nothing extraordinary, considering the frequency at which it pays me a visit. the cause for alarm was that this time, it refused to budge. instead it stubbornly sat right in the middle, obstructing all regular functions of my brain and beginning to take the form of a warped mindmap, like some freak show where a tree evolves into a mutant, growing abnormally long claw-like branches and starts doing baaaad things. it just went on, becoming increasingly tantalizing: picture this scene of someone in a trance, eyes vacant, arms limp by his/her side, standing at the edge of a cliff. a loud booming voice taunts, go on, take another step. you know you want to. just one more step. poof. leaves you guessing whether this person plunges into the bottomless pit. scared myself silly, i did. 'cause i was so close to putting this thought into action and at one instant it dint appear as crazy as i was taught to believe all these while. after a bout of ratiocination, the absurd thought was banished. till the next time.
alright it's now past noon on a sunshine-after-rain sunday. never got to finish ytd's entry before training. mmm i'll never know what hx has in store for my partner and i. tenthousandmetres. nice. in fact it seems we'll all never know what hx has in store for us. haha phototaking at the end of 3 x 75m. we drifted, we rafted, we made a lot of noise but at last the job is done. it must have been a heartwarming sight. awwww. (:
` cracked heels, cramped toes and a blister i'm tempted to pop.
